Deer Lakes High School welcomes Ms. Hannan
Please join us in welcoming Tracey Hannan to the Deer Lakes School District!
"Deer Lakes feels like it values everyone personally," Ms. Hannan said. "The district's focus is centered around supporting each learner on their individual journey to success. I'm excited to be a part of this model for building confident and capable graduates who will, in turn, build brighter tomorrows."
Ms. Hannan will be the High School's Library Sciences and Writing Lab Teacher! Ms. Hannan has previously taught at Pine-Richland, Avonworth, CCAC and in China where she taught English as a foreign language. She most recently worked in an administrative capacity at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit with the Alternative Education Program and Head Start and Pre-K Counts.
"I love to make meaningful connections with people," Ms. Hannan said. "Working with learners to expand knowledge and develop new ideas is, in my opinion, the best way to build those connections. Growing as an individual is supported by media of all kinds and the responsible ways in which we use it."
Ms. Hannan graduated from Shaler Area High School, earned her bachelor's degree at Slippery Rock University, her teaching certification at Robert Morris University, and her master's degree at Duquesne University.
She grew up in a family of educators.
"My family raised me to love and value education and how it can be transformative in your life," Ms. Hannan said.
