All students driving to school and parking on school property must purchase a DLHS Parking Permit and register any vehicles being driven to school with the Assistant Principal’s office by filling out a Student Vehicle Registration Form (available at the Attendance Window). In addition to this form, the following must also be presented to the Attendance Window at the time of registration before a Parking Permit will be issued: the student’s valid driver’s license; proof of valid registration for each vehicle being registered; proof of valid liability insurance for each vehicle registering. The cost is $25.00, payable by check only, made out to Deer Lakes School District. You will be charged an additional $12.00 by DLSD if your check is returned due to insufficient funds, placed on the debt list and your parking permit will be suspended until the debt is paid in full. Only one Parking Permit will be issued per student and may be used for all vehicles registered by the student. The Parking Permit must be displayed from the rear-view mirror with the number facing outside at all times while the vehicle is on school property during school hours.
Students on the current or any previous year’s debt list(s) will be denied the opportunity to purchase a DLHS parking permit until all debts are paid in full. Students with numerous unlawful absences and tardies may be denied the opportunity to purchase a DLHS parking permit.
No student is permitted to drive around the building during school hours; violators will have their Parking Permit revoked. Students driving or riding to school are not permitted to loiter in or around the parking lot before or after school. Students parked in the student parking lot are not permitted to move their vehicles during school hours without prior administrative approval.
Driving/Parking privileges may be suspended or revoked for certain disciplinary infractions and the $25.00 fee the student paid to purchase the Parking Permit will not be refunded. Any student driving or parking an unregistered vehicle in school during school hours will be subject to disciplinary action. Vehicles parked on any Deer Lakes School District property without a current Parking Permit and/or not registered with the Attendance Office are subject to being towed away at the owner’s expense. All rules of the Pennsylvania Vehicular Code will be enforced while vehicles are on the school property. Any vehicle parked on school grounds may be subject to a search.
